Redmi runs on Android 14, HyperOS. It is an upgrade from the Android 13, with up to 3 major Android upgrades, HyperOS on Redmi Note 13 Pro released on 21 September 2024.

Chipset

The Note 14 Pro handset is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra (4 nm) chipset.  It is an upgrade from Note 13 Pro’s Qualcomm SM7435-AB Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 (4 nm), offering more efficiency and power needed for tasks and gaming.

The chip comes integrated with:

• CPU: Octa-core (4×2.40 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4×1.95 GHz Cortex-A55) for multitasking and ensuring efficiency across multiple opened apps as you browse through your phone.
• GPU: Adreno 710, providing a seamless gaming experience for mid-setting games.

Storage Specifications

Expandable memory support has not been specified, but card slots could be a great feature for additional memory, considering you have only 512GB ROM Max. A 1TB additional memory option would be highly appreciated and preferable by users, considering how fast the seemingly 256/512GB can get consumed, with the copious multimedia files from social media, video recordings, movies, and games eating up space.

Camera Set up

The camera setup on the Redmi Note 14 Pro is typical for a mid-range smartphone. It offers decent performance, especially with the decent pacakge:

The ability to record 4K videos makes it favorable and preferable to the more limited Note 14. Interestingly, the Redmi Note 13 came with an impressive 108MP+8MP+2MP triple camera setup that recorded 1080p videos. Note 13 Pro features an impressive 200MP + 8MP+ 2MP. Though the camera setup on Redmi 14 Pro is an upgrade from the one installed on Note 14, it is still far below the dominant package on the Note 13 series. Why the downgrade of some sort?
